Using the instrument
In order to use the device in all the safety required, all operators must read the paragraph on safety
carefully, along with the paragraph below.
2.1 Power-up
The device is delivered with 4 AA batteries of 1.5V each. It is wise to place these batteries in the
compartment provided for this purpose. To open up the compartment, unscrew the screw on the back
of the box. Once the batteries are in place, screw the cover back on.
Observe the polarity: an incorrect battery positioning could damage the device. The correct polarity is
indicated inside the compartment.
The figure below illustrates how to open the battery compartment as well as the correct positioning of
each battery.
After inserting the dry cells (or NiMH batteries) correctly, press the ON/OFF key to turn ON the prod-
uct.
To turn the unit off completely, press the ON/OFF key until the "Instrument in power off mode" screen
comes up.
