6.3.1.4
Split Edit Grid
Split Grid: You can split the grid into two sets of columns containing the same data,
with the exception of the first column that is shown only in the left grid.
These columns may be horizontally scrolled in an independent way, while the
vertical scroll operation simultaneously involves the two grids – that is the rows in
the grids are scrolled together.
The first column of each row contains the icon of the node the row represents. A
double-click on the icon is equivalent to a selection of that node in the
Tree View,
which means the
Edit Grid changes its contents with the child nodes of the double-
clicked node.
The second column of each row contains the node description and the third the
technical text.
To activate
Split Grid, do the following:
- Click the Split Grid icon
in the Standard toolbar and drag the cursor to
the desired width.
- Click again to set the grid.
- Drag the cursor back to return to normal view.
6.3.1.5
Split Data View
Split Data: You can split the data into two sets of rows, where the lower set
displays the Children and Links tabs for the selected node. Splitting the grid allows
you to scroll different parts of the same data simultaneously. This is useful when
the data exceeds what is viewable on the screen.
To activate
Split Data, do the following:
- Click the Split Data icon
in the Standard toolbar and drag the cursor to
the desired height.
- Click again to set the grid.
- Drag the cursor back to return to normal view.
If allowed, to modify the value of a property, you click on the cell and directly insert
the new value. Depending on the data type of the property, the cell contains the
proper control that allows the best way for editing the property value (for example,
a dialog box for an enumerated type).
