APOGEE Wireless User Guide
Restoring WRS and RSX Default Values
If needed, you can restore the WRS and RSX device to its factory default con
fi
guration (see Table 4).
WARNING:
When a WRS or RSX is reset to its factory default values, it also erases the binding
that the device has to its associated RSX or WRS device, resets the channel to 15 and
enables auto-channel changing, and resets the WRS setpoint to 72 degrees F.
To restore the WRS to its factory con
fi
guration:
1. Connect a computer cable (540-143) from a computer to the RJ-11 port on the bottom of the WRS.
The WRS wakes up and remains active for the amount of time speci
fi
ed by its HMI port timeout setting
(default = 5 minutes). If the WRS returns to sleep mode before you are done, disconnect and then
reconnect the cable to the WRS port.
2. Start a HyperTerminal session, log on (1200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no
fl
ow control), and
then press
ENTER
to display the HMI prompt.
If there is no communication with the WRS, verify that the battery is properly inserted and the plastic
insulating strip is removed.
3. If the RSX/TEC that the WRS is bound to will no longer be used with a WRS, type
UNBIND
and press
ENTER
. This will notify the RSX/TEC that the WRS will not be replaced:
4. To reset the RSX bound to the WRS to its factory default settings, type
FACTORY RESET RSX
and
press
ENTER
.
5. Type

fi

6. To reset the WRS to its factory default settings, type

and press
ENTER
.
7. Type
