Operate
6.2 Parameter description
SITRANS VP300 with or without HART
110
Operating Instructions, 03/2011, A5E01258666-03
Purpose:
Achieving optimum valve operation.
Description:
If the setpoint falls below the value for the lower tight closing limit or
exceeds the value for the upper tight closing limit, the valve is moved
into the valve seat with the maximum actuator force.
The tight closing function is activated on one end or for both end
positions. Make sure that the valve is not damaged when utilizing the
tight closing function. The values for the lower and upper tight
closing limits are factory-set.
The pre-set values can be changed with the following two
parameters:
"2.1.3 Lower tight closing limit" (Page 72)
"2.1.4 Upper tight closing limit" (Page 73)
"3.6.4 Shift upper endstop"
This menu is used to make the settings for monitoring the shifting of the upper endstop.
Note
Detection of errors
The monitoring of the upper endstop is particularly used for detecting wear and tear in a
valve.
A maintenance message is also output if the thresholds of the upper endstop are exceeded
as a result of a magnet clamp movement.
The current value is displayed in percent in "3.4.13 Shift upper endstop" (Page 95). If one of
the three parameterizable thresholds exceeds this value during the test, a maintenance
message is output by the device.
"3.6.4.1 Activation"
Requirements:
The "Up" or "Down and up" option is set in the"3.6.4.5 Tight closing"
(Page 111) parameter.
Factory setting:
Off
Setting options:
Off
On
Purpose:
Detect valve errors.
Description:
Use this parameter to activate the test for monitoring the upper
endstop. With this parameter activated, the positioner detects
shifting of the upper endstop. The test is always carried out when the
valve is in the "Tight closing > Up" position. It checks whether the
upper endstop has changed as compared to its value during
initialization. Please check whether the "thresholds" apply to your
application.
