6.4 Parameterizing BICO interconnections
In order that the Technology Extension RAILCTRL becomes active, the write protection of the
PROFIdrive telegram must be withdrawn, and the telegram extended. Write protection is
withdrawn after switching over the telegram settings in p0922 = 999 "Free telegram
configuration according to BICO".
Note
You can use any standard telegram for the telegram extension (e.g. telegrams 2, 3, 103, 105).
Standard telegram 2 was extended in the following examples.
Settings
You set the assignment of the adjacent segments within a CU using the BICO interconnection
in p30452[0...1].
The BICO interconnection with the RAILCTRL control word in r30476 and the RAILCTRL status
word in r30482 is shown in function diagram "7366 – Standard telegram 2 extended, control
word, status word (Page 78)".

Note
For communication across CUs, the adjacent segments on the CU transition are assigned by
the CU communication via p30490. In this case, you must set the connector input p30452[0...1]
to 0.
