Preface
Content of the documentation
This document describes the simulation model of a power generating unit, type
SINAMICS PCS corresponding to VDE application rule 4110 (VDE-AR-N 4110).
Information about the SINAMICS PCS product is provided in the operating instructions in the

Disclaimer of liability
Any liability of Siemens – irrespective of the legal grounds – in particular for errors of the
model, shall be excluded. This shall not apply as far as there is a legally binding liability, e.g.
in cases of intent, gross negligence, damage to life, body or health, acceptance of a quality
guarantee, willful concealment of a defect or violation of major contractual obligations. This
does not entail a change in the burden of proof to your disadvantage.
Security disclaimer for simulation products
The planning and operation of a system can be simulated using the Siemens simulation
model. The simulation results only involve non-binding recommendations, which are
dependent on the completeness and the correctness of the data that has been entered. For
each simulation/optimization, users must carefully check the input data and the results for
their plausibility.
Intended use
The MATLAB/Simulink® simulation model of the SINAMICS PCS is a simulation model for the
electrical attributes of a power generating system according to FGW TR4 (Revision 08). The
simulation model was validated as part of the certification of SINAMICS PCS according to
VDE-AR-N 4110 in compliance with FGW TR4 Revision 09.
It is only permissible that the model is used for simulations that are covered by the features in
Chapter "Description of the PGU and the features implemented in the simulation model
(Page 11)" and the application possibilities listed in Chapter "Possible applications and limits
of the model (Page 12)".
