3.5.7
Anti-condensation heating for the closed-loop control (A21)
The anti-condensation heating is used at low ambient temperatures and high levels of humidity
to prevent condensation from forming. The heating is controlled via a thermostat. The heating
is externally supplied with power.
3.5.8
Vented electronic compartment in the power unit (option A32)
A fan is integrated in the electronics section of the power unit. Operation at temperatures about
+40°C up to a maximum of +45°C is therefore possible. The electronic compartment in the
reactor area is designed as a separate low-voltage compartment with its own doors and, if
applicable, fans in the doors. It therefore allows you to open the electronic compartment during
operation for the replacement of components.
The fans are required for ensuring the promised rates of failure of the electronic modules. The
fans are not required for guaranteeing the reliable operation of the electronic modules. If the
fans fail, the converter is not switched off. The module temperature is monitored by the closed-
loop control. The default shutdown threshold is 75°C. You must not open the power unit to a
replace a faulty fan. Replace the defective part immediately.
3.5.9
Speed sensing for four motors (only starting converters) (option A54)
Four SMC30s are used to monitor four motors. This option includes the HUB 20.
The SMC30 (Sensor Module Cabinet-Mounted 30) evaluates motor encoder signals. The
sensor module transfers the speed and actual position value to the Control Unit via the internal
DRIVE-CLiQ communication interface.
Note
If an encoder fails, the mode can be switched over to "encoderless".
For more information, please refer to “Supplementary component descriptions” on the
converter CD.
3.5.10
Dry transformer monitoring (option A72)
Alarm and fault messages to the dry-type transformer are evaluated via the additional TM15
module.
3.5.11
Oil transformer monitoring (option A73)
Alarm and fault messages to the oil-filled transformer are evaluated via the additional TM15
module.
These are solely binary signals. Up to eight signals are output per step-up transformer or step-
down transformer.
