Removing a thyristor

2. Keep the cup-spring assembly under tension with the open-ended wrench.
3. Use the socket wrench to loosen the clamping screw until the thyristors are resting loosely
in the plastic holders.
4. Pull the two gating leads off the thyristor.
5. Take the thyristor out.
Installing a thyristor
1. Clean the thyristor surfaces of the new thyristor with ethanol.
2. Spray contact oil onto a clean cloth and apply to the contact area.
3. Place the new thyristor in the plastic holder.
Pay attention to the mounting position, especially the polarity of the thyristor. The adhesive
symbols on the clamping pressure plates show the appropriate information.
4. Reconnect the two twisted gating leads.
5. Tighten the clamping screw with the socket wrench until the open-ended wrench

can be
easily removed.
When the slot in the steel bolt is flush with the surface of the side plate, the clamping force
is correctly set.
6. Enter the thyristor numbers and the replacement data in the equipment installation log. The
first number on the thyristor label is the thyristor number.
