7.1 Section content
This section provides information on:
● Inverter control procedure
● Setpoint sources and setpoint preparation
● V/f control and vector control
● Protection functions:
Power module protection, thermal monitoring functions and overload responses, anti-stall
protection, stall protection, thermal motor protection, Vdc control.
● Application-specific functions:
Unit changeover, energy-saving display for fluid flow machines, braking functions, flying
restart, efficiency optimization, quick magnetization for induction motors, automatic
restart, simple process control functions, real-time clock and time switch, emergency
operation, multi-zone closed-loop controller, cascade control, bypass, energy-saving
mode, logical and arithmetic functions using freely switchable function blocks.
7.2 Inverter control
7.2.1 Switching the motor on and off
After switching the supply voltage on, the inverter normally goes
into the "Ready to switch on" state. In this state, the inverter waits
for the command to switch-on the motor:
• The inverter switches on the motor with the ON command. The
inverter changes to the "Operation" state.
•
The inverter brakes the motor after the OFF1 command. The
inverter switches off the motor once standstill has been
reached. The inverter is again "ready to start".
