Replacing the Power Module
Overview
You may only replace the Power Module with another Power Module under certain conditions.
Condition
A replacement is subject to one of the following two conditions:
• Replaced and new Power Module have the same power.
• The new Power Module has more power than the replaced Power Module .
In this case, the rated power of the Power Module must not exceed four times the rated
power of the motor.
Description
WARNING
Electric shock and danger to life due to dangerous voltage
Because of the capacitors, a hazardous voltage is present for up to 5 minutes after the power
supply has been switched off. Contact with live parts can result in death or serious injury.
• Wait for 5 minutes before you check that the unit really is in a no-voltage condition and start
work.
Procedure
1. Disconnect all external power to the system:
– Line supply
– 24 Vdc supply to the Control Module (CM)
2. Wait 5 minutes to allow all residual voltages and currents to dissipate.
3. Undo the Power Module's (PM) four self-retaining screws.
4. Remove the PM from the Terminal Housing.
5. If a memory card is fitted, remove the memory card from the memory card reader and insert
the memory card in the new PM.
6. Fit the PM onto the Terminal Housing.
7. Fasten the four self-retaining screws.
8. Tighten the screws to the correct torque.
9. Reconnect the mains supply.
10.Reconnect the external 24 V supply.
11.If the converter reports fault F01641, perform a reduced acceptance test.
