9.3.2
Preparing the PLC program
The PLC program must be prepared so that all signals are provided for the sway control system
and all output data is processed further (see Communication interface to SIMATIC S7
(Page 83)).
Note
The error bits must be evaluated in all circumstances in order to detect malfunctions and to be
able to respond appropriately.
9.3.3
Preparing the converters
Stationary and rotating measurement
Stationary and rotating measurement in the drive should be completed.
Converter parameter sets
The converters do not require their own parameter set for sway control. The parameter set for
operation without sway control can continue to be used.
The setpoint is supplied continuously by the sway control system. The parameters are set as
described in the following sections.
Acceleration and deceleration ramps
The setpoint from the sway control system is read in the drive downstream of the SINAMICS
ramp-function generator. The settings of the SINAMICS ramp-function generator (ramp and
rounding) therefore have no influence on sway control.
CAUTION
Danger of injury and possible material damage caused by unexpected crane movements
Unexpected jerk movements may occur during operation with sway control. There is the
danger of injury to unprotected persons. Unsecured objects can be damaged.
● Protect yourself against unexpected movements (e.g. by wearing a safety harness or
standing in a secure position).
● Secure freely movable objects to prevent them from slipping.
Speed controller of the converter
In order to achieve the best possible response to setpoint changes, the speed controller in the
drive should be set correctly before commissioning the sway control system.
