The hoist and trolley are in SAM mode. The hoist is not yet at a safe height.
Section 2:
The crane driver operates the master switch, thus requesting hoist takeover. Because the
danger of a collision still exists, this action must cause termination of the trolley motion.
The trolley and the hoist are switched to MAN mode.
Section 3:
Trolley and hoist are in MAN mode.
Case B:
Section 1:
The hoist and trolley are in SAM mode. The hoist is at a safe height, i.e. the
HOIST_TAKEOVER_OK status bit is set.
Section 2
The crane driver operates the master switch, thus requesting hoist takeover. In this way, the
trolley can be switched over to POS mode and the hoist to MAN mode.
Section 3:
The trolley is in POS mode. This means that the trolley continues to move in the direction of the
specified target without observing the obstacles however.
The crane driver is responsible for the safe height of the load. The crane driver has complete
control over the hoist with the master switch.
Note
Takeover of the hoist from SAM to manual mode should be prevented by the PLC when the
master switch is operated only very briefly (unintentional operator error). This delays takeover
of the hoist into manual mode by the waiting time.

Minimum hoisting height
The trolley and the hoist can be limited to a defined height on the land and water sides in semi-
automatic mode (SAM). This is designed to avoid inclined travel or lowering travel below this
height.
P66 (minimum hoisting height, landside) and P67 (minimum hoisting height, waterside) are
used to define a hoisting height. The trajectory is then calculated such that trolley travel above
this position is completed. Below this position, there is no longer any inclined travel and only the
hoist can lower to the target point. This is especially important shortly before placement.
