The single-channel switched I/O configuration is recommended for system components
which tolerate the failure of individual modules within the ET 200M.
Single-channel switched I/O configuration at the PROFIBUS DP interface
The system supports single-channel switched I/O configurations containing an ET 200M
distributed I/O module with active backplane bus and a redundant PROFINET interface.

Each S7–400H subsystem is interconnected (via a PROFINET interface) separately with the
PROFINET interface of the ET 200M. See chapter System redundancy (Page 106).
