The modem card is equipped with a standard RJ11 telephone port. The following is

Note
This product meets the applicable Industry Canada technical specifications.
The Ringer Equivalence Number is an indication of the maximum number of devices
allowed to be connected to a telephone interface. The termination on an interface
may consist of any combination of devices subject only to the requirement that the
sum of the RENs of all the devices does not exceed five.
4.4
Serial Ports
The RUGGEDCOM RS400F supports RJ45 or DB9 serial ports, which can be run in
RS232, RS485 or RS422 mode.
Note
On power-up, all serial ports default to RS485 mode. Each port can be individually
set to RS232, RS485 or RS422 mode through RUGGEDCOM RS400F . For more infor-
mation, refer to the
RUGGEDCOM ROS Configuration Manual
for the RUGGEDCOM
RS400F.
All serial ports feature an LED that indicates the current state of the port.

Serial RS232 DB9 Ports
Serial RS232 DB9 ports offer a female Data Communications Equipment (DCE) inter-
face. When communicating with a Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) device, such as a
PC, a straight-through serial cable (3 pin or 9 pin) is required. When communicating
