Error and diagnostics messages 

If there are operator errors or errors in processing mode, the optical reader outputs diagnostic 

information. The diagnostic information can be read out as follows:

As a message via the WBM

Via the LED display on the reader

When using onboard PROFINET with the Ident profile (or FB 79), in the device diagnostics 

•

 

When using the technology object "SIMATIC Ident" in the diagnostic function of the 

technology object (TIA Portal).

All three message types are displayed in the WBM.  
Most messages of the "error message" type trigger a diagnostic interrupt on the relevant 

PROFINET controller.
