This manual contains all the information you need for start-up and for operat-
ing and maintaining the sensor.
Description
The SIMATIC MV230 is a split-beam sensor suitable for automatic inspection of
objects or their position as a result of its specific height profile.
Application range
The SIMATIC MV230 can be used for the following purposes:
• Checking when filling packaging
• Placement checking of small parts
• Part recognition and checking for correct position during assembly
The SIMATIC MV230 compares the height profile of the tested object with that
of the trained model and provides information as to whether the inspection
was successful or not.
It is possible to save the height profiles for up to 16 different objects as models
in the sensor.
Interfacing to a higher-level (automation) system is possible through standard-
ized digital inputs and outputs (X1 plug/X2 socket).
