7.3 Removing and installing hardware

SIMATIC IPC1047E
Operating Instructions, 03/2021, A5E50259546-AA

Installation

Note

Install only fans of the same type. Use the "FAN1" slot for the connecting cable of the fan.

Ensure that the arrow on the device fan points toward the fan bracket. The device fan blows

air into the enclosure.

To install the fan, follow the steps for removing it in reverse order.

Change the fan on drive cage type A

This fan is only installed in the removable tray (drive cage type A) for configurations with

RAID and the hard disk type "Enterprise".

Requirement

•

The device is fully disconnected from the line voltage, see section "Switching off the

device (Page 43)".

•

The device is open; see section "Open the device. (Page 53)".

•

The adapter module for removable drive trays is removed, see section "Installing a 5.25"

adapter module for removable trays (Page 67)".

•

An original spare part, that is a fan of the same type, see information in section

"Accessories and spare parts (Page 20)".

Procedure

Detach the fan cable from the motherboard.

Press the upper and lower lock

on the fan support and remove the fan support from the

drive cage.
