Glossary

Aggregate current

The total current of all output channels of a digital output module.

Bus

This is a common transmission path connecting all nodes and having two defined
ends.

With the IM 178-4, the bus is a twisted pair cable or fiber-optic cable.

Bus connector

The physical connection between the node and the LAN cable.

For the IM 178-4, there are bus connectors with and without attachments for
PG/PC and in the types of protection IP 20 and IP 65.

Chassis includes all the inactive parts of electrical equipment that are connected
