Install the rail to allow enough space for mounting and cooling the modules.
Screw the rail onto the mounting surface.
Installing the functional earth
You must connect the IO device with the functional earth to ensure electromagnetic
compatibility.
Proceed as follows:
1. Isolate the grounding cable with a minimum cross-section of 10 mm

2. Attach a ring cable lug for M6 screws with the crimp tool.
3. Slide the enclosed bolt into the T profile groove.
4. Insert the spacer, ring cable lug with the grounding connector, flat washer, and lock washer
onto the bolt (in that order). Fasten the components with the nut (tightening torque 4 Nm).

5. Connect the other end of the grounding cable to the functional earth.
Note
Alternative grounding of the rail
If it is ensured that the rail is permanently connected to functional earth by means of an
equivalent, standard-compliant installation, for example, with a permanent attachment to a
grounded enclosure wall, grounding via the ground screw can be omitted.
