2.1 System Configuration
The SITRANS P, MS series transmitter can be used in a number of system configu-
rations: as a standalone version supplied with necessary auxiliary power, and as part
of a complex system landscape, e.g. SIMATIC S7.
The most important settings can be made directly on the device using the pushbut-
tons. The entire scope of communication is also available through HART® (online
parameterization).
Communication can take place through the HART® communicator, interface option-
ally with
•
HART® communicator,
• HART® modem with series-connected PC/laptop, on which suitable software
such as SIMATIC PDM is available or
•
a HART® capable control system (e.g. SIMATIC S7 with ET 200M).
