Installation

5.2.1

Connection to Screw Terminals

The following steps are required for electrical connection:

1. Unscrew the housing cover from the connection box (marked "FIELD 

TERMINALS" on the housing).

2. Feed the connection cable through the cable gland.

3. Connect the wires to the "+" and "-" terminals (Figure 22, p. 107), pay attention 

to correct polarity!

4. Connect the shield to the shield screw if necessary. Diese ist elektrisch mit dem 

äußeren Schutzleiteranschluss verbunden.

5. Screw in the housing cover.

NOTE

To improve the immunity to interference, it is recommended:

-  To lay cable separately from cable with voltages > 60 V
-  To use cables with twisted wires
-  avoid placing near large electrical equipment or the use of shielded cables
-  to use screened cables to guarantee entire specification according to HART®
-  a load of at least 230 ohms for error-free communication. A load is already built 

into the device when using feed isolators for SMART transmitters, e.g. Siemens 

7NG4021.

WARNING

The housing cover must be secured with the safety bracket in transmitters with 
type of protection "explosion-proof".
