Commissioning the LINK in standard mode

If necessary change the IP address before loading.
Via the shortcut menu of the LINK open the online and diagnostics view ("Online &
Diagnostics" > "Functions" > "Assign IP address").
Make sure that the address data on the LINK and in the STEP 7 configuration are
consistent.
2.
Download the configuration data to the LINK.
When downloading the first time download via Ethernet. Depending on the PG/PC
connection, later downloads can be via PROFIBUS or Ethernet.
Note
Restart when using bus adapters
If you use a bus adapter, you need to restart the LINK after downloading so that the bus
adapter is recognized. Follow the steps outlined below:
1.
Download the configuration data as described above.
2.
Turn off the power.
3.
Plug in the bus adapter and connect it to the network.
4.
Turn on the power.
The ports of interface X1 are then disabled.

Reading out and entering I&M data
I&M data
Identification & Maintenance data (I&M data) is stored on the module.

Identification data (I&M0)
I data is manufacturers information about the module that you only have read access to.
Some of it is printed on the housing, e.g., article number and serial number.

Maintenance data (I&M1, 2, 3)
M data is plant-dependent information, e.g. the plant designation and the location
designation. Maintenance data is created during the configuration and written to the
module.
M data can be read and written.
