Installation and administration of Plug PC for HiPath 3000
Remote Access Appliance
12.2.1
Introduction
In order to provide broadband remote access to HiPath 3000 systems a HiPath 3000 Remote
Access Appliance (Plug PC) was designed. This HiPath 3000 Remote Access Appliance has
a built-in service plugin which enables the remote technician to gain broadband access to the
customer's HiPath 3000 system via Manager E, the HG1500 and a possible Xpressions Com-
pact via WBM on the SSDP server. It was designed to achieve a very fast and simple setup.

12.2.2
Description
The Plug PC's package consists of the Plug PC itself, a power cord, power adapter, LAN cord,
and an 8 GB USB stick for collecting trace data if needed.
12.2.3
Hardware installation
1.
Connect the Plug PC to the customer's network, by using the LAN cord provided in the
Plug PC package.
2.
Plug the also delivered USB stick into the Plug PC's USB port.
3.
Connect it to the power outlet, either using the power cord, or the little power adapter.
