Activating/deactivating the ringtone
You can deactivate the ringer on your
handset before you answer a call or when
the handset is in idle status; the ringer can
be deactivated permanently or just for the
current call. The ringtone cannot be re-
activated while an external call is in
progress.
Deactivating the ringtone permanently

until you can no longer hear
the ringtone.

Re-activating the ringtone

Activating/deactivating the alert tone
Instead of a ringtone, you can activate an
alert tone. When you get a call, you will
hear
a short tone
("Beep") instead of the
ringtone.

Sound Manager
The handset's Sound Manager manages
ringtones and sounds which you can use
as ringtone melodies. It can manage the
following sound types:
The icon is displayed in front of the name
in the Sound Manager. Your phone has

as default settings. You can
neither delete nor rename these default
sounds.
You can download sounds in .psf- and
iMelody format from a PC (page 53). You
can have sounds in iMelody format sent to
you via SMS (page 26).
In Sound Manager you can listen to the
existing sounds and rename and delete
sounds that you have downloaded onto
your handset via SMS or data cable
(max. 16 KB).
