Aspect ratio
The
Aspect Ratio
option is used for adapting the video signal to the format of your tel-
evision screen.
Note also the aspect ratio settings of the connected devices (televisions, video record-
ers), because each of these settings can impact the actual display.

16:9
Your television is a 16:9 device.
Programmes in 16:9 format are
played in full-picture mode.
The height of the picture is adjusted to the height of the screen for pro-
grammes in 4:3 format; the picture is limited by black bars to the left
and right.
