Registering and de-registering
handsets
To be able to make calls with your handset, you must
“introduce“ it to its base station (registering). This is
very simple and occurs automatically.
Handsets of the Gigaset 2000/3000 families and non-
Siemens handsets must be registered manually.
Automatic registration
Gigaset 4000 handsets at the
Gigaset 4010 base station
Automatic registration (“introducing”) is only possible
for the supplied handset and any other G4000 hand-
sets bought additionally. Before activating your hand-
set,
place it
in the base station
with the display fac-
ing upward
. After approx. 1 minute, the handset's
internal number is displayed (e.g. “ 1 ”).
The next unassigned internal number (1 – 6) is auto-
matically assigned to the handset. If all numbers are as-
signed, the internal number 6 is re-assigned. The hand-
set which was registered under number 6 is then
deregistered.
It is possible to assign a different internal number (see
page 39) or a different internal name (see page 38) to a
handset later.
¬
Make sure that you do
not
press the On/Off
key
before placing the handset in the base
station. If you have inadvertently activated the
handset, please deactivate it.
