2.6 Limitations for the detector families
2.6.1 AnalogPLUS detector family
The DO1133A point detector cannot be replaced by a multiple protocol detector.
The following applies to connecting external alarm indicators:
l
If the external alarm indicator is connected to only one individual detector, there
are no limitations.
l
If only original AnalogPLUS detectors and FDOOT241-A3 point detectors are
used in combination wit base adapter FDB241, there are no limitations.
l
If several FDOOT241-A3 point detectors are to be merged on an external
alarm indicator, we recommend using the FDB241 base adapter.
2.6.2 SIGMALOOP detector family
The SDF3500 point detector cannot be replaced with a multiple protocol detector.
The following applies to connecting external alarm indicators:
l
If the external alarm indicator is connected to only one individual detector, there
are no limitations.
l
If only original SIGMALOOP detectors and FDOOT241-A4 point detectors are
used in combination with base adapter FDB241, there are no limitations.
l
If several FDOOT241-A4 point detectors are to be merged on an external
alarm indicator, we recommend using the FDB241 base adapter.
2.6.3 Interactive detector family
l
The DB1151A detector base cannot be replaced with a Sinteso detector base if
the detector is operated interactively. An FDB251 base adapter must,
therefore, always be used.
l
On an interactive detector line, an external alarm indicator may only be
operated on an FDOOT241-A5 multiple protocol detector via an FDB251 base
adapter. The external alarm indicator must be connected to the DB1151A
detector base.
l
The point detectors DOT1151-Ex and DT1151-Ex may not be replaced with
multiple protocol detectors.
l
If an FDOOT241-A5 point detector is mounted in interactive mode (factory
setting) on an addressed FDSB291 sounder base of an FDnet system which is
in operation, the sounder base may produce one or two alarm sounds. The
alarm sounds can be prevented as follows:
– Change the FDOOT241-A5 point detector to FDnet mode with the
FDUL221 line tester before mounting in the sounder base.
2.6.4 Detector family with MS8/PMT pulse detection technology
On an MS8 detector line, an external alarm indicator can only be connected to a
multiple protocol detector if using a Sinteso detector base.
