7.1 Changing batteries on the FDCW221
The battery in the radio gateway must be replaced when a battery fault for the
radio gateway appears on the control panel. The detector line must not be
switched off during the battery fault otherwise the service life of the radio detector
batteries will be reduced significantly!
WARNING
Short-circuit as a result of incorrectly inserting batteries
Warming of batteries and risk of fire
●
When inserting battery, note polarity.
The battery may only be replaced by technical personnel.
Procedure:
w
The FDnet detector line is operating.
w
The radio gateway is in normal operation and is being powered by the FDnet
detector line without any interruptions.
w
The new battery is ready to be inserted.
1. Unlock the cover of the radio gateway on the face side using a pin.
2. Pull off the cover of the radio gateway.
3. Replace the battery.
4. Snap the cover of the radio gateway back into the back box.
It may take up to 30 minutes for the battery fault message to disappear from the
control panel because the battery is only checked every 30 minutes. The fault
message only disappears if the newly inserted battery has sufficient voltage.
All fault messages are updated if you do the following:
1. Switch the detector line off.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Insert the battery.
4. Switch the detector line on.
Dispose of batteries in an environmentally friendly manner and observe national
guidelines and regulations.
