6.21 Earth fault monitor PCA2001-A1

The 'Ground fault monitoring (24V)' PCA2001-A1 detects the earth fault at the
isolated DC 24 V wiring to the external components provided by PCA2011-A1 and
PCA2018-A1. It ensures that an earth fault on the external DC 24 V wiring outside
of the cabinet is detected and reported.

6.21.1 Installation

The PCA2001-A1 provides two connectors to connect DC 24V, earth and a relay
output to report the status.

The PCA2001-A1 shows the status with 2 LEDs:
● EF+ active when an earth fault to DC 24 V occurs
● EF- active when an earth fault to DC 0 V occurs

6.21.2 Configuration with the jumpers

The earth fault threshold is set to 50 kOhm according to EN 54-16.

The sensitivity can be reduced to 10 kOhm by setting the jumpers SJ1 and SJ2.
