IMT Options Package

The IMT (Intima-Media Thickness) measurements package is a separate option
for use with the ACUSON Cypress ultrasound system.

These pages describe how to set up and use the IMT options.

IMT Setup Options

To set the IMT options, follow these steps:

Press the

SETUP

key.

Click the “+” sign next to

Setup

or double-click the

Setup

heading to display

the Setup options.

Highlight the

IMT Protocol

option. The IMT options are displayed on the

right.

Specify the grid setting for exported images; when

Enabled

, the grid is dis-

played on exported IMT images. To display the grid, click the

Enabled

box;

to hide the grid, click

Disabled

Specify the AVI Compression Type for IMT images. There are two options.
Click the box for

MS RLE (lossless)

MS Video 1 (lossy)

Types of IMT Calculations

There are two IMT calculations:

IMT Mean Distance

IMT Standard Deviation

The formulas for the IMT calculations are shown in Table 37 on page 7-20.
