RS485- Cascading Interface X5
The 500 V isolated RS485-cascading interface X5 (see fig. 2) is led out
on the bottom side of the Active Mini-Starcoupler over a COMBICON
plug connector. Each of the interface ports " A " and " B " of the devices
are connected in parallel with a 2-wire, shielded cable. The cable screen
is grounded on one side left in each case beside the Active Mini-
Starcoupler with a ground terminal on the hat rail.
At the first and last Active Mini-Starcoupler on a 2-wire RS485 bus the
bus termination resistances must be switched ON.

DIP-Switches S1 and S2
With the DIP-switches S1 and S2 on the bottom side of the Active Mini-
Starcoupler the termination resistance for the RS485 bus is switched
ON/OFF and the operation mode is activated.
