Types of installation 

 

 

Note 

The device is only approved for operation in closed rooms. Note the following 

environmental conditions. 
Antennas, in particular directional antennas, must be mounted in keeping with their 

characteristics (refer to the technical specifications of the antenna --> Radiation pattern 

diagrams). 

 

For the device the following types of installation are permitted:

Wall mounting 

•

 

Ceiling mounting 

•

 

Mounting on a DIN rail 

•

 

Mounting on an S7-300 or S7-1500 mounting rail 

 

 

CAUTION 

Danger of injury by falling objects 

If the SCALANCE W is subjected to very strong vibration (> 10 g), mounting on a 35 mm 

DIN rail does not provide adequate support. Under such conditions, the device can 

come out of the mounting and may cause injury. 
In this case, install the device on a mounting rail or on a wall.
