Table 8-25
Diagnostics transfer
Parameter
Possible values
Default
Description
Transfer images
• None
• Archiving/MMI
None
You specify whether the relevant data record is to be trans‐
ferred to a server if one of the causes selected in "Image"
under "Settings" → "Options" → "Diagnostics & monitoring"
occurs.
• None: No transfer
• Archiving/MMI: If transfer monitoring is activated, the
images are transferred to the server.
Buffer size for diagnostics transfer (MMI):
When images are sent by diagnostics transfer (MMI), they
are buffered in the camera until the transfer is complete.
When the buffer is full, no further diagnostic images are
designated for transfer.
The buffer for diagnostics transfer has a standard size of
five images but it can be increased at the expense of the size
of the camera diagnostics memory. The diagnostics mem‐
ory has a maximum size of 50 images. If this buffer size is
reduced, the buffer that becomes free is available for diag‐
nostics transfer ("Settings" → "Options" → "Diagnostics &
monitoring" → "Logging" → "Image" → "Buffer size").
With a larger buffer for diagnostics transfer, please note
that although many diagnostic images generated in quick
succession (e.g. during scanning) can be designated for
transfer, sufficient time must be available between two ser‐
ies of images for the actual transfer.
Transfer data re‐
cords
• None
• Archiving/MMI
None
You specify whether the relevant data record is to be trans‐
ferred to a server if one of the causes selected in "Image"
under "Settings" → "Options" → "Diagnostics & monitoring"
occurs.
• None: No transfer
• Archiving/MMI: If transfer monitoring is activated, the
data records are transferred to the server.
With transfer moni‐
toring
☐ / ☑
--
Select the check box to activate transfer monitoring. If the
check box is not selected, transfer is not monitored.
If transfer monitoring is activated, the SIMATIC MV540
checks that all the occurring diagnostic images and data
records are transferred completely and with no gaps. If the
data cannot be transferred to the connected server in the
available time, the SIMATIC MV540 outputs a transmit error
and changes to the Stop state. In this mode, you should
therefore make sure that the Ethernet connection has suf‐
ficient bandwidth and that the SIMATIC MV540 has enough
time in reserve to send the data to the server.
Include security rel‐
evant events
☐ / ☑
☐
If this is activated, security relevant events in the data re‐
cords are included in the transfer (in the parameter "Trans‐
fer data records").
