Definition of terms
The following terms are important in order to understand the principle of operation
behind the driver assistance system:
Term
Meaning
Zone
Volume (3D) captured by the sensor head.
Detection zone:
The physical zone whose limits are determi-
ned by the sensor head lens and inside which the system is
able to capture data.
Alarm zone:
The zone whose limits are determined by the
software and inside which the system outputs alarms.
Range
Range at ground level (2D) captured by the sensor head. The
range is the projection of the (3D) zone at ground level.
Detection zone:
The physical zone whose limits are determi-
ned by the sensor head lens and inside which the system is
able to capture data.
