Figure 15: Correct sequence for manual muting
1
The TE signal is not displayed, but must continue to act complementary to the MR signal.
2
Interruption of the protective device is expected after a defined time (max. 4 s, depending
on the speed of the conveyor).
3
Ending of the muting function after the muting function request ends and a defined delay
time has elapsed (max. 4 s, depending on the speed of the conveyor).
4
If the muting function ends and the protective device is not released, a safety stop is trig‐
gered.
5
Triggering of manual muting: A pushbutton must be held for at least 350 ms for manual
muting (max. 30 s).
6
The maximum duration of manual muting is 150 s. After this time, manual muting is auto‐
matically ended if it is still active.
7
Manual muting is ended as soon as the protective device is released.
8
When manual muting is active, the pushbutton for manual muting controls safe outputs.

1 of n timing sets
This optional function enables configuration of multiple values for time monitoring of
the muting function. It allows the muting function to be set for different conveyor
speeds and different material lengths. This function is configured via timing sets that
contain a value for every configured time
see "Adjust configuration", page 29
. The cur‐
rently valid timing set must be selected via signals from the higher-level control,
"Interfaces and signals", page 24
Up to four of these timing sets can be set up. They must contain the following details:
•
Maximum time between muting function request and interruption of the Type 4
electro-sensitive protective device
•
Maximum duration of muting function
•
Minimum duration of muting function
•
Length of the delay before the muting function is deactivated after interruption of
the protective field of the Type 4 electro-sensitive protective device
•
Length of the delay before the muting function is deactivated after the muting
function request is ended by the higher-level control
NOTE
It is only possible to select the current timing set if the muting function is not active; it
cannot be switched while the muting function is active.
