Power to the input starts the assigned function, e.g. start of
the internal reading interval of the device. Default: active high,
debounce time: 10 ms (standard)

Instructions for electrical installation when the ambient temperature can fall below
0 °C
NOTE
For mounting instructions,
see "Mounting instructions for ambient temperature range
All device variants can also be operated at low ambient temperatures. For details,
6.3.1
Prerequisites
•
Required supply voltage:
•
Use SICK IO-Link standard cables for the specified ambient temperature range,
see:
°
•
Do not operate the device at ambient temperatures below 0 °C when mounting or
connection work is being carried out.
•
Perform all connection work only in the ambient temperature range 0 °C to
+50 °C. Secure the connecting cables.
•
The side cover of the memory card slot must be screwed tight to the device.
•
All cables connected to the device must be clamped. The M8 connection, which
may not be used, is sealed with a tightly screwed protective element, e.g. a
protective cap as delivered.
•
When operating the device at the lower limit of the permissible ambient tempera‐
ture range (
), do not expose the device to strong air
flows (e.g. ventilation system, wind).
6.3.2
Behavior of the device when switched on
Once the supply voltage has been applied and initialization has been completed,
the device can be addressed immediately with a configuration tool, e. g. SOPAS ET,
TIA Portal, TwinCat.

Behavior
Below –25 °C
“Ready” LED continuously flashes orange.
Device is not operational because –25 °C is below the specified
minimum limit value.
