Measuring mode
In the measuring mode operating mode, the NAV245 generates an image of its current
reflector surroundings within one rotation of the scanner head.
A maximum of 60 reflectors are displayed (factory setting: 40). You can configure the
number at will. The output reflectors take into account the reflectors which are positioned
the closest to one another in order to limit the output size.
Fig. 12: Landmark detection
In live mode, the automated guided vehicle's computer imports the landmarks (reflectors)
determined by the NAV245 and calculates its current position based on this. As a result,
deviations in the position determined using the odometry data (encoder) are usually
corrected.
3.5.1
Measurement accuracy
Landmarks in a limited radius of action of the NAV245 are measured more accurately and
thus improve the result of determining a position (see “NAV245 data sheet” on page 72).
Recommendation
Fix the reflectors to docking stations (e.g., pallet transfer points) and, when cornering, fix
them within the defined, restricted radius of action of the NAV245 or on the route.
