NOTE
■
The total amount of process data (p frame)
must not exceed 180 bytes.
If
more process data is configured, the data is only output up to the last slot which
still fits (incl. start and stop characters and separators) in the data frame of 180
bytes. No subsequent process data is output.
■
If the beam status does not fit in the data frame of 180 bytes, none of it will be
output.
9.2
Data volume for the beam functions
The data volume for the beam functions depends on the following factors:
•
Number of beams on an MLG-2 and the resulting data width for the transmission
of a beam function
–
8 bits with up to 255 beams
–
16 bits with more than 255 beams
•
Transmission type
Binary, hexadecimal (ASCII-coded), decimal (ASCII-coded)
8-bit or 16-bit data width
In order to output data such as the number of beams blocked (beam function = NBB),
different data widths are required depending on the number of beams on the light grid
in use.
Examples:
MLG
50
A-
2050
I10501, a device with 50-mm resolution and 2050-mm monitoring
height, 2050/50 + 1 = 42 beams
If all beams on the light grid are blocked, NBB = 42. A transmission width of 8 bits is
sufficient.
MLG
05
A-
2095
I10801, a device with 5-mm resolution and 2095-mm monitoring height
2095/5 + 1 = 420 beams
If all beams on the light grid are blocked, NBB = 420. A transmission width of 16 bits is
required.
Transmission type
The data can be transmitted in binary, hexadecimal, or decimal format:
Above example with NBB = 42 and 8-bit data width:
•
Binary = 1 byte: 0010 1010
•
HEX = 2 ASCII characters = 2 bytes: 2A
•
DEC = 3 ASCII characters = 3 bytes: 042
Above example with NBB = 420 and 16-bit data width:
•
Binary = 2 bytes: 0000 0001 1010 0100
•
HEX = 4 ASCII characters = 4 bytes: 01 A4
•
DEC = 3 ASCII characters = 3 bytes: 420
9.3
Data volume for the separators
Each separator is 1 byte long.
If separators are configured, a separator is output after each configured entry or after
every package of 8 beams in the case of the beam status.
