Mounting
5.1
Mounting instructions
•
Observe the technical data.
•
Protect the sensor from direct and indirect sunlight.
•
To prevent condensation, avoid exposing the device to rapid changes in tempera‐
ture.
•
The mounting site has to be designed for the weight of the device.
•
Do not subject the device to excessive shock or vibrations. In systems subjected to
heavy vibrations, secure the screws used to mount the lens and illumination unit
using threadlocking adhesive.
•
Observe the permitted ambient operating temperature,
. If the ambient operating temperature will be

45 °C, ensure adequate
heat dissipation when mounting the device. For example, mount the device using a
mounting bracket on a suitable heat sink made of aluminum profile. Mounting
brackets are available as accessories. Use a heat sink with the dimensions
40 mm x 80 mm x 665 mm. To ensure air circulation, mount the device, for
example, at an adequate distance from walls, ceilings and other devices.

If the ambient temperature is above 35 °C, do not adjust the mounted lens when
the device is switched on.
•
If the device was previously switched on, wait for temperature equalization before
you touch the mounted lens (e.g., for removal) of a device that is not switched on
and where the ambient temperature is above 35 °C.
5.2
Preparation for mounting
5.2.1
Installation requirements

Comply with the technical data, such as the permitted ambient conditions for
operation,

Only mount the device using the threaded mounting holes provided or the movable
sliding nuts.
•
Mount the device in a shock and vibration insulated manner.
•
Make sure the device has a clear view of the codes.
Auxiliary equipment required

Mounting system with sufficient load-bearing capacity and suitable dimensions
■
4 or 2 M5 screws for mounting the device on a mounting system supplied by the
customer
■
Tool and tape measure
The screw length depends on the mounting base (wall thickness of the bracket). When
using an optional SICK mounting system, the screws for mounting the device are
included with delivery.
5.2.2
Mounting systems
Mount the device to the mounting systems using at least 2 threaded mounting holes
(M5) or sliding nuts.
The threaded mounting holes are located on the rear side of the device.
The sliding nuts can each be inserted into a slot on the side of the housing.
