Start teach-in
parameter is used to select the signal that triggers the automatic
process for teaching in a match code.
•
AUTOMATIC / STATIC
: A signal (e.g., a key switch) makes the reading gate open auto‐
matically. The next code read by the system is taught in as a match code.
•
SYSTEM TRIGGER / DYNAMIC
: A signal (e.g., a key switch) at one of the sensor's digital
inputs prepares it for teaching in a match code. Once the reading gate has opened
(typically triggered by a photoelectric switch), the next code read by the system is
taught in as a match code.
345
Start delay
parameter can be used to control when the reading window opens. The
unit can be selected via the
parameter.
If a positive value is set, the reading gate opens at a later point, e.g., so that the sensor
only detects codes at the rear end of an object in order to reduce the decoding time.
Image capture can be tailored more precisely to the code position by adjusting the trig‐
ger.
•
A START DELAY
(additional time/distance for which the reading gate must remain
closed after event A)
346
Station Name
A name for the PROFINET IO gateway is defined via the
parameter.
The following naming conventions apply:
•
The station name consists of letters, digits, a dash, or a period, and must not
exceed 127 characters.
•
A single component of the device name, i.e., a string of characters between two
periods, must not exceed 63 characters.
•
With the exception of hyphens, special characters must not be used.
•
The device name must not start or end with a hyphen or period.
•
The device name must not begin with digits.
•
The device name must not be in the form of n.n.n.n (where n is a number between
0 and 999).
•
The device name must not start with the character sequence "port-xyz-" (where
x,y,z are numbers between 0 and 9).

Increase of decoding robustness
The settings in the
Increase of decoding robustness
group are used to increase the
readability of codes when the print quality is poor. However, these settings reduce the
reading reliability.
