Set the mark on the throttle lever to the position half
way between “H” and “L”.
Turn the starter switch to the position “ ”.
The self-starter motor will be turned and the engine
started up.
To protect the battery, press the starter switch for 5
seconds for one start-up. If the engine does not start,
repeat the starting procedure several times.
When the engine has been started, turn the choke lever
counter-clockwise and open the choke gradually until fi-
nally it is fully open.
After having started the engine, warm it up for 2 or 3
minutes.
<Engine Shut-down>
Set the mark on the throttle lever to “L”.
Turn the engine switch to “O”.
The engine will be shut down. Pressing the switch on
the engine can also shut down the engine.
If white smoke is discharged from anywhere other than
the exhaust port that is an emergency:immediately turn
the starter switch to “O” position.
Close the fuel cock.
