8. Connecting the Phone Line

Connect the phone line cord to the 

TEL. LINE

 socket and a wall tele-

phone socket (use the provided adapter if needed).

The machine is initially set for tone dialing. If you are on a pulse dial 
line, change the "DIAL MODE" setting.

It is recommended that you install surge protectors for the power and 
telephone lines. Surge protectors can be purchased at most tele-
phone specialty stores.
