ADJUSTABLE SLIP CLUTCH (con’t) 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.  If the slip clutch is out of adjustment, it can be 

tightened by turning the outer hub towards the 
pulley.  This can be done while installed in the 
machine by using a flat-blade screwdriver to 
hold the knurled ring and turning the rewind 
hub in the direction of unwinding the ribbon.  
Turn in 1/8

th

  turn increments clockwise, and 

check function.  If the clutch is over-tightened, 
ribbon usage will increase and the print will 
appear stretched-out and lighter than normal. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Substantial machine disassembly is required to 
replace the adjustable slip clutch.  This procedure 
is best performed by Sharp Packaging Systems
