6.6.1
Connection points for mobile applications
For mobile applications, the type of energy transfer determines how you have to apply
preventive measure against electrical hazards.
Direct power supply
The ground connection protects mobile systems with direct power supply according to
IEC 60364-4-43 against electrical hazards.
Comply with the following rules:
•
Ground the device with the shortest possible route (PE).
•
Use a green/yellow grounding cable.
The ground connection must be ensured via 2 mobile contact outlets, also known as
sliding contacts.
The following figure shows a sample mobile system with direct power supply via slid-
ing contacts:
