Do not twist housing legs and mounting flanges against each other. Observe the per-
mitted overhung and axial loads! Observe the chapter "Project Planning" in the gear
unit/gearmotor catalog for calculating the permitted overhung and axial loads.
Strength class of
the screws
Always mount gearmotors using screws of strength class 8.8. The gearmotors in
flange-mounted design and in foot-/flange-mounted design listed in the following table
are an exception. Always use screws of strength class 10.9 for these gearmotors. Use
suitable washers.

Corrosion protec-
tion for screw con-
nections
Use plastic inserts (2 – 3 mm thick) if there is a risk of electrochemical corrosion
between the gear unit and the driven machine. The material used must have an elec-
trical leakage resistance < 10

Ω. Electrochemical corrosion can occur between vari-
ous metals, for example, cast iron and stainless steel. Also install the bolts with plastic
washers! Additionally ground the housing. Use grounding screws on the motor.
