Designated use
The designated use refers to the procedure specified in the operating instructions.
Explosion-proof CMP synchronous servomotors are drive motors designed for use in in-
dustrial and commercial systems. Motor loads other than those specified and areas of
application other than industrial and commercial systems should only be used after con-
sultation with SEW-EURODRIVE.
Do not take the unit into operation until you have established that the end product com-
plies with the EC Machinery Directive 98/37/EC.
The explosion-proof CMP synchronous servomotors comply with the applicable stan-
dards and regulations:
• Low voltage directive 2006/95/EC
• guideline 94/9/EC
• EN 61241-0 Electrical apparatus for use in atmospheres containing combustible
dust: General requirements
• EN 61241-1 Electrical apparatus for use in atmospheres containing combustible
dust: Protection through housing "tD"
• EN 60079-0 electrical apparatus for potentially explosive atmospheres: General re-
quirements
• EN 60034 Rotating electrical machines
• EN 60079-15 Design, testing and designation of electric equipment in protection type
'n'.
Technical data and information on the permitted conditions are given on the nameplate
and in the documentation; they have to be observed under all circumstances.
