NOTE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY INSTALLATION:
Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet
Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has b e e n
disconnected at the network interface.
Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
Installation of SAT DBRX requires co-ordination with your telephone company. It is
recommended that a Touch-Tone line be installed to allow much faster dialing. If a Touch-Tone
line is not available, the SAT DBRX can be reprogrammed to dial out pulse (rotary) signals.
The phone company may require the following information:
The ringer equivalence number.
These numbers are indicated on the label on the back of the SAT DBRX.
Actual installation of the SAT DBRX involves:
Grounding the SAT DBRX to earth ground from the terminal on the SAT DBRX.
Connecting the supplied phone line into the RJ-11C jack provided by the phone
company.
Connecting the optional IBM PC or XT compatible keyboard. (See Pg. 24)
