Time Tag External Events

The receiver can time-tag electrical level transitions on its Event

X

inputs with an accuracy of

20ns.

By default, the receiver reacts on low-to-high transitions.

You can use the

setEventParameters

command to react on falling edges instead:

setEventParameters,EventA,High2Low <CR>

Upon detection of a transition, the receiver can output the time and/or the position at the
instant of the event (see for example the

SBF block).

The following constraints must be observed to ensure proper event detection:

• There must be no more than 20 events in any interval of 100 milliseconds, all event pins

considered.

• The minimum time between two events on the same Event

X

input must be at least

5ms.

Missed events are ﬂagged by the

MISSEDEVENT

bit in the

SBF block.

The external event inputs can also be used to ﬂag log ﬁles as “to be preserved”. If this is
enabled, ﬁles logged during the occurrence of an external event are preserved from auto-
deletion. Refer to the

setPreserveOnEvent

command for details.
