Measuring the AsteRx4 Power
Consumption
The following procedure can be used to measure the power consumption of the
AsteRx4_OEM receiver board separately from the power consumption of the interface
board:
•
remove the S1 jumper;
•
put the jumper on S2;
•
first, apply power to VCC_IN socket. This will power the interface board;
•
then, apply power to the VCC_EXT 3-pin header (5V max). This will power the
AsteRx4_OEM receiver board.
Doing so, the receiver board is powered through the VCC_EXT 3-pin header, while the rest
of the interface board is powered through the VCC_IN socket. VCC_EXT is only used to
power the AsteRx4_OEM, so that the power drawn at that connector is the power
consumption of the OEM board only.
