4. Plug the other end of the Smart-Link-to-DVR connection harness into the
POWER
OUT
TO
DVR
connector on the Smart-Link.
5. Plug the ignition harness (shown in Figure 2-7) into the
POWER
IN
connector
on the Smart-Link.
6. Connect the red wire to a 12 VDC battery connection. Connect the black wire
to a ground connection. Connect the yellow wire to an ignition-triggered
signal.

CAUTION
To ensure proper performance, connect the red and black power wires to points as close to
the battery as possible. Never connect the ground wire (black wire) to the vehicle chassis
by drilling a hole into a panel and using a sheet metal screw. The ground connection will
be corroded very quickly and the performance will be compromised.
